Admired director Rituparno Ghosh has casted Aishwarya Rai on two previous occasions, and now there may be a third movie in the offing.
There is news is that Rituparno Ghosh is planning on making a movie based on the Bengali novel Devi Chaudhurani penned by the famous Bengali author, Bankim Chandra Chaterjee. And who better to cast but the gorgeous Aishwarya Rai who has previously worked with him in Chokher Bali and Raincoat.
Aishwarya for her part has received critical acclaim on both previous occasions, and it is rumored that Aishwarya is keenly viewing Suchitra Sen’s portrayal of the protagonist in an earlier adaptation of Devi Chaudhurani.
Devi Chaudhurani, one of the most popular Bengali novels, tells the story of a rich housewife who turns out to be a leader of the dacoits. Rituparno is rumored to be recreating the story in the modern context, and is said to have delivered a script to the actress.
If the two do come together again, we are sure that it will be a masterpiece. | |
